My name is Sandi Smoker. I am an artist (@smokeypointarts) and Certified Spiritual Care Practitioner. After graduating with an MA in Theological Studies from Regent College in 2020, with concentrations in both the Arts and Spiritual Formation, I completed 12-months of Clinical Psycho-spiritual Education during my internship and residency with Providence Health Care. I served on PHC staff, as psycho-spiritual counsellor in acute care psychiatry, geriatric medicine, critical care and end-of-life. I study Art Therapy with the Vancouver Art Therapy Institute. I live in the Outer Southern Gulf Islands and serve as Mental Health Counselling Supervisor with Pender Islands Health Care Society.
Why arts in therapy? Christine Valters Paintner, author of Awakening the Creative Spirit, writes, “To honour the power of the arts, we offer them in service of healing and wholeness as an integral element of the entire experience. We make significant space to listen for what they reveal to us…creating space and creative expression for healing, growth, and connection.” (C. Valters Paintner, 2010)
Through creative accompanying, perhaps, the art therapist serves as a witness to the ever-unfolding story of a life, offering a supportive, safe, and listening presence.

Welcome, I’m Jillian (she/her)
I’m a counselling intern and practicing art therapist based in Vancouver, currently completing my Master of Counselling through Athabasca University. I’m also a Registered Therapeutic Counsellor (RTC).
My path to this work is personal. I discovered art therapy while navigating my own health challenges, and it became a powerful way to reconnect with myself and heal through creativity.
As a highly sensitive person, I understand what it’s like to experience the world deeply. I value helping others turn that sensitivity into a source of strength and insight. I support people navigating life transitions, stress, chronic health conditions, and times when they feel disconnected from themselves or their communities. We’ll explore ways to cope, create meaning, and stay grounded through life’s challenges.
My integrative approach blends talk therapy, art-making, mindfulness, and nature-based practices to foster healing, growth, and self-understanding. You can expect warmth, curiosity, and deep respect for your unique process. I look forward to meeting you.

Angela Walsh Noble (she/her) is an artist, art educator, and student art therapist based in Pemberton, BC. Angela is currently working to complete an Advanced Post-Graduate Diploma in Art Therapy from the Vancouver Art Therapy Institute. Angela strongly believes in the power of art to promote healing and expression, and she does so through a person-centered, culturally sensitive approach. Art therapy provides individuals with the opportunity to explore life-stories, personal problems and potentials through the use of simple art materials. No art skill is required. Angela’s deep commitment to mental health and well-being begins by providing a welcoming, inclusive, and supportive environment in which to gain confidence to face life’s challenges, to creatively explore, and to heal. In addition, she is committed to walking a decolonizing path both personally and professionally, and she gratefully acknowledges the immense privilege it is to live, work, create, and learn on the ancestral and unceded territories of the Lil’wat, N’Quatqua, and Skwxwú7mesh Nations.
Angela maintains an active artistic practice in her home studio primarily in the forms of painting, drawing and printmaking. Angela holds both a BFAH and a B.Ed. from Queen’s University, and an M.Ed. in Art Education from UBC. With more than 20 years of experience, Angela is a veteran community art educator who maintains an enthusiastic and passionate approach to teaching studio art to a wide range of age groups – from the young in age to the young at heart – in a variety of professional settings including schools, public arts organizations, galleries and museums.
